Dietetics

What is Dietetics?

Dietetics applies a scientific understanding of nutrition to diet and its effects on health.

University trained Dietitians provide specialised and tailored nutrition advice to suit an individual’s lifestyle, taste preferences and longer-term health goals.

How can a Dietitian help?

A Dietitian can help in many ways and often as part of an integrated team tackling challenging problems such as:

  • Weight control
  • Diabetes
  • Heart disease
  • Metabolic disorders
  • Food allergies and intolerances
  • General health and wellbeing

What happens at my Dietetics consultation?

At your first consultation, your Dietitian will work to get a full understanding of your health and lifestyle goals and any challenges you are facing in order to achieve these goals.

They will then work with you to tailor individual advice that takes into consideration your lifestyle, tastes and food preferences and overall goals in order to achieve long term lifestyle change.

Your Dietitian will also remove the confusion around the often-conflicting information about what is good, and not so good for you when it comes to diet and nutrition.

What does a Dietetic consultation cost?

  • Individual consultations = $95
  • Further consultations = $82 / $77
