Louise Adam DO M Ost Sc Post Grad Cert (Pilates Method)
Director and Osteopath

Louise uses a wide variety of "hands on" techniques such as massage, mobilisation, manipulation as well as exercise and advice to assist her clients reduce pain and improve wellbeing.

Louise has developed a special interest in assisting people break the cycle of longstanding and recurring pain. Emerging research has reinforced her impression that effective ‘hands on' therapy combined with exercise therapy and better understanding of their condition often helps clients reduce pain and improved quality of life. This led to the establishment of the Solutions for Wellbeing Centre in Kiama which combines a variety of injury recovery and prevention services. Clients can choose any of the services offered for best results.

Louise has over 28 years experience assisting clients with pain and injury. Louise was registered as an osteopath in 1981 and established a pain and injury practice in Sydney before moving to Kiama in 2001.

Louise holds registration as an osteopath, a Masters in Clinical Practice and a Post Graduate Certificate in the Pilates Method of exercise. Louise is a past President of the Australian Osteopathic Association and current member of the NSW Government's Osteopaths Registration Board. Louise has taught clinical practice at the University of Western Sydney where she has held the position of head of the Osteopathy program.

Sonia Henry B Physiotherapy
Physiotherapist

Sonia embarked on a career in health after being inspired by her grandfather, a legendary Kiama veterinarian. Sonia graduated from Newcastle University with credit before taking up the role of physiotherapist for Waverly college rugby union, basketball, volleyball and soccer teams as well as general physiotherapy practice.

Sonia is the physiotherapist for Northern Suburbs Rugby with several Wallabies under her care. Sonia has undertaken additional training in back pain management, core strengthening, cycling biomechanics and bike setup, and has a personal interest in workers compensation claims. Sonia is undertaking masters in health law at Sydney University, reflecting her interest in medical negligence and ethical practice.

Osteopath

Simon has been a Kiama resident for 27 years. While growing up he was a keen athlete representing Kiama, Illawarra and NSW across a range of sports including hockey, basketball, swimming and surf life saving.

Simon completed an exercise science degree from the University of Wollongong in 2003 and began to pursue a career in research in the area of biomechanics. Simon decided that he preferred being directly involved with helping people recover from both acute injuries and chronic pain. Simon holds a Bachelor of Exercise Science with Distinction, a Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathic Studies) with Distinction and a Master of Osteopathy with Distinction. Simon received the Deans medal in 2006 for consistent academic excellence.

He utilises a range of “hands on” therapy techniques coupled with tailored exercise programs, ergonomic and lifestyle improvements.

Osteopath

Tim completed his five years of osteopathic training at the University of Western Sydney graduating with both a Bachelor and a Masters in Osteopathic Science. He is registered with the NSW Osteopaths Registration Board and is a member of the Australian Osteopathic Association. 

Offering a broad range of techniques to clients of all ages - ranging from deep tissue massage,  joint articulation and manipulation, to more gentle techniques such as muscle energy and counter strain - he tailors the treatment to suit the individual client and their specific needs.

Angela will be known to many Kiama locals as an energetic and caring fitness instructor and pilates teacher. Angela’s background includes both registration as a Fitness instructor in the areas of general fitness, exercise for children, adults and older adults as well as using pilates based rehabilitation exercise in a physiotherapy setting. Angela is excited to return to this interesting and rewarding area of activity – using the innovative equipment designed by Joseph Pilates as part of current best practice exercise therapy for injury recovery and prevention and wellbeing.

Adriana Michell is a local mother of 3 with extensive experience as a medical receptionist and practice manager. Amazingly, she also finds time for her interests of Pilates, Netball, Volleyball, Basketball and personal fitness.

Amanda Last, also a Kiama local, joins our centre as a physiotherapy and osteopathy assistant with a special interest in massage. Amanda has completed a Certificate 4 in Massage. Amanda shows her support for the community and wellbeing through her involvement in the LIfeFIX programs for youth and MS events.
